Summary

On just another normal Monday, the world changed. The universe had reached a threshold humanity didn’t even know existed, and it was time to finally be integrated into the vast multiverse. A world where power is the only thing that one can truly rely on.

Jake, a seemingly average office worker, finds himself thrust into this new world. Into a tutorial filled with dangers and opportunities. In a world that should breed fear and concern, an environment that makes his fellow coworkers falter, Jake instead finds himself thriving.

Perhaps… Jake was born for this kind of world, to begin with.

Chapter 614 and I'm not enjoying myself as much as I did earlier. Nothing very new is happening and the MC is to strong and to known. There is no reqlal indepth exploration even though mc has stated many times how he wants to explore. Just goes from a fight to alchemy to fighting very little in-between the little interaction you get in-between are of little importance as almost any interaction mc has to show how strong he is and not even in a cool way or how annoyed he is and the other 95% of people knows he's already a power house so they bend at the waist for him. The not revealing he's a chosen at the school is also annoying "doesn't want to annoy his friends" he'll have no consequences because 99% of the school time is spent at his house alone anyways.

Warning: Primal Hunter, on its core, is actually a coming-of-age slice-of-life story. The action litrpg tag is misleading.

I’m more surprised by the fact you said it’s a slice of life story

Oof. Being caught up is pain. ` I recommend you stack for few (3-5) months. The Nevermore arc is apparently not even close to being finished. And is only about 50'ish% done.

Random Opinion: Primal Hunter is the polar opposite of Dimensional Descent. Too lazy to articulate rn. I just want to continue reading.

-breaths out- Idk if you started reading this, but this one of the novels that needs COMMITMENT. Do not read this if you are finding a "filler novels". The story and the writing style is thematically dragging. It will bore you out at times. The pacing is meant to be dragging, extremely slow and repetitive. Like only 1 payoff every 150 chapters (~2 volumes). Complaints such as: It's just fillers and some people suggest on skipping or skimming chapters (which is simply idiotic). The problem is that this is not your high-octane fast paced story with edgy badazz rizzlord MC. The target audience is the people who likes LN such as Apothecary Diaries and Ascendance of a Bookworm or Manga/Anime like Mushishi and Natsume's Book of Friends. Those story that you read it and digest slowly or even at times, relaxing. About the MC, Jake. Do not find character development on him. One of his traits is "Stability". His personality and moral codes is already set on stone. It will barely budge.

Hey can you tell me how is MC of this novel Compared to DD. I read DD till chapter 77 but that mc was simp and others told he never goes out of simp mode made me immediately drop the story. how is this MC does he have hero syndrome? It’s good as long as he is not overly righteous clown or simp.

"MC does he have hero syndrome?" No, no, no! Fxck! People are also complaining about that! It annoys me so much. That is a misconception and oversimplification. Sigh... Jake acts that way bcos of various reasons. There is something that compels him and he is trying to restrain it. He is not trying to be a hero or overly righteous! Partly bcos of his struggle on Nature vs Nurture. Also, he follows the philosophy that "Do you really need a reason to be nice to others?". Everyday-Jake is just a simple dude. He is just happy if the people around him is also happy. I think they're talking about his total aversion to slavery and tor ture. Then people calling him a hypocrite for acting overly righteous. Again, there are a lot of factors and lines that needed to be considered. Don't read the novel on face value. It needs digestion and interpretation. Imo, Primal Hunter requires you to have similar amount of brain cells activation like when reading LOTM.

There's a lot of complaints about Jake's personality and characterization, like he is the most boring character in the series, his edgy version is a lot better, he has no character development, or he is very arrogant at times. But he is a lot more fleshed out character than, the 2-Dimensional caricature that is, Leonel will ever be. Jake has his struggles with Nature vs Nurture, Self control. Individualism, Normalcy, and people expectations. I truly believe that Jake is a multifaceted character if you just look deeper. His character development is very subtle. Give it time. As one of theme of this novel, "it is not sprint, it's a marathon". [Also the author's excuse why the pacing is so dragging] There's only few big changes to him, but it more of a small changes and slow exploration of his character. Jake is in my list of Top "human" characters, those characters who acts human or 'to be human' in a very alien or nightmarish fantasy world. For example, Sunny of Shadow Slave.

Thanks for the reply, i dont have that much time lately to be able to read a lot, right now im trying to caught up to Shadow Slave so if this story is slow it's probably not the best for me to start reading it, i also have a lot of unfinished novels to read, thanks again for the reply and have fun reading :)
