Schedule: 1 chapter per day
Chapter Lenght: 1700 - 2000 words but usually are even longer
Warning: The MC is not an hero nor an anti-hero. He is a broken, cynic and misanthropic person looking only for his own gain. If you are looking for a forgiving, nice, MC that goes around saving people in distress, this is not your cup of tea.

I always come back to this book eery couple of months just to see how far it has fallen and it just breaks my heart. This book was my first webnovel and I was so in love with it but a series of bad decisions has reduced what could have been a masterpiece to this. A crumbling mess of clashing opinions. To anyone that’s still debating on reading this book, please do. If I were to summarize how this book made me feel in a sentence, “Falling head over heels for something beautiful, only to witness its tragic demise.”

Yes people exaggerate, it makes you wonder what kind of novel they have read because if Supreme Magus is bad i don't know any good novel

Is this novel good, and if so, can someone explain why?

Yes it's really good. Its advantages are above all the most logical and complete world building i have ever seen, it feel so real, even the fantastical/magical things. Everything is explained, logical, etc... there is not really a plot armor, the MC is mature and have one of the best character development i have ever seen too, the novel doesn't rush and explains things in detail (sometimes it's boring but if you compare to novels that skip things because he's too lazy to write them or only mentions them then i prefer that) this usually alternates between a "Slice-of-Life" arc or something like that, and a fight/action arc. Some people don't like this and prefer only to advance the story, depend on your taste, personally i think it further increases the immersion and that's good, sometimes the author does too much but at least the novel feel real. It's one of the best i've read in the last +6 years

Starting chapters might be hard to go through but the novel is worth reading. In my honest opinion it is one of the best on the site.

You're wrong, that doesn't mean anything. What matters is the total number of words, the first 250 chapters are around 1850 words according to the summary, after this it's around 1250-1350 words per chapter because they are divided into 2 parts (which further increases the so-called number of chapters since it notes "1395 part 1" and "1396 part2" instead of "1395 part 2"). From what i said above that's about 3,795,000 words only. Do you think that’s a lot? Each chapter of RI is 2000-3000 words that's on average 6,000,000 words and the novel is NOT finished... So i guarantee to you, Supreme Magus isn't as long as it looks

I wanted to start this novel, but it's convoluted mess of opinions. Some like it at the extreme and others hate it at the same extreme. I know it's because of one character that it's called kamilla I think. So then, I made my own research about that famous character, and in my surprise, she was hated because she is "normal" thus dragging down the mc and limiting his growth. I thought that she was hated because she was a Rachel like character. If it's only that, I can read the novel without any problems. However I want to be sure that mc isn't a simp. So please tell me your thoughts.

You can read it till 1500s or something. Till this point it's f*ck*ng amazing. But after that the romance takes a deadly turn. You might regret it. At least most people do.

Considering this is one of the first light novels I started with I might be a bit biased, but I think it's definitely worth the investment of time. the MC's got a leg up on the competition of his own age range that's for sure, but especially later in the story when the world story kind of fleshes out more is when (in my opinion) Supreme Magus really shines. It takes an interesting perspective on magic mechanics, strength levels, and bloodlines as well as different intelligent species of the world. I personally don't think the character in your original question is dragging the MC down, bus a lot of power fantasy expecting people take talking and character growth as boring b*llsh*t and complain till the cows come home.

in my opinion it is one of the best novel on this site web I started reading it 2years ago and still can't get enough of it. What I really like is following the low healing of the broken psyke of the MC and the character of Kamilia is a big part of it furthermore her family indirectly bring or repell a looming threat and is for me an undisposable character

Definitely not late novel shang but I'd say he's roughly around commander stage shang. Broken but can possibly still get better

Frankly speaking I never pick my novels based on openions and comments I read first 100 chapters and if I find it good I read it else I drop it. But this novel is a bit disturbing coz MC is like hyper-paranoid and doesn't truse anyone and creates a barrier arround himself coz of his past trauma and it keeps on going but story is real good if mr. author can remove that thing then it will be like having a blast

I don't do that either, however with 2900 chapters in the plate it's a huge investment and I don't want to waste it in something that is garbage. Thanks for the reply.

The more chapters the better in my opinion the longer they last. Read 100 chapters and check if it’s for you or not.

Can anyone give me another good western fantasy magic wn recommendation? I have tried a few Korean ones but Korean novels have a tendency to be soulless amalgamations of garbage tropes or sappy borderline erotica -looking at you Oak Tree- (and before you cry, I used tend for a reason I know there are some good ones, A Practical Guide To Evil comes to mind).
