A boy with amnesia woke up in the middle of the Dregs, the worst part of Crimson Fungus City.
The boy grows up and manages to become strong enough to pass an exam for one of the most prestigious jobs in existence, a Zephyx Extractor, someone that can harvest the powers of Specters.
Sadly, he had already gained a power from a Specter in the past, which made him ineligible for the position.
But then, a mysterious man visits him.
And his luck finally turns around.

Is there chronicle order to this novel work? Does LITOW or SGIAWOM have the same world?
One of the reasons why I don't read Warmaisach's works is because of its writing style. I have this irrational hate, a pet peeve, towards "1-sentence paragraphs". Maybe it looks good at mobile. but a tablet-user such as myself who reads in landscape, it just hurt my eyes and gives me headache.
All of the author's 3 novels are in the top 50 amazing consistency
I finally completed LITOW after SGIAWM which I absolutely loved, now is the time to start this one. I hope it's good as the other 2.
I read in the chapter comments that SGWOM world, this book and the other book is connected. Are the worlds connected or something?
Wha?? I was reading and when I finished the chapter, and went to read the next, the "Next Chapter" button was greyed out. `How did I catch up? I was taking my sweet time reading this from the start. Yet it only lasted a bit over 2 days? ` I guess I only have one choice. I have to "accidentally" trip in front of a car and be put into a coma for the next 6 months. It's the only logical solution to my very serious problem of having no more chapters.

Interesting power system. Op basically works in a world where people can found their own company that can extract scps of magic essence that is also basically gold. My only gripe is that the author seems to struggle with making villains hateable without making them commit/condone SA. I found myself attached to the novel purely because I want to see the r*p*sts dead, but I understand andwould suggest you move on if it's too much to ask for. Other than that, great novel, great protagonist and very intriguing world building. I might check out the authors other works if they're anything like this
ive heard some ppl in comments talk abt this, but is this a stand alone? i dont need to read the other authors works before this one to understand?
